+=+ I do not seek to come between these two
stout knights. However, I do think it is essential 
to be precise about the regulation. This refers to
"a meaning hidden from declarer because of 
some key available only to the defenders". The
word 'available' is interpreted to mean that the
key is not available to declarer  in principle  - it 
is not that he does not possess it but rather that 
he could not possess it.
      Since I have distanced myself from reading 
the total correspondence I have no knowledge 
whether this angle has been explored.
