SAYC (Standard American Yellow Card) is a "modern" version
of the Standard American bidding system designed in 90s by
ACBL to help occasional partners in tournaments.

The system should have die but was saved by Online bridge.
It was the only "simple" available system and became the
international language for occasional partners on Ok-Bridge.

The original description was made by ACBL:

Anna Marsh from England produce the first simple and complete
description for OK-Bridge players.

Many school of bridge this side of the pound (like mine), use
SAYC as basic teaching approach. Though, you use a modern version
named the "Grant Standard).

What is SAYC? I don't find it on the abbreviation list. Perhaps
Standard American Yellow Card? But what, if correct, does that mean?
Thanks, JE
