I'm confused.  West must surely have known that the sequence was 
undiscussed and must also have known (albeit from his hand) that 3C did 
not show solid D.  He should thus have been acutely aware of the need to 
describe 6C as "Undiscussed, either void showing or 'to play' if the 3C 
was natural."

It sounds to me as if West has been nobbled by the De Wael school of 
explanation!
