I had presumed this only applies before the cards have been removed from  the 
wallet. If not, then I must confess to an illegal coded agreement I had with  
a former partner, where the question "Would you like a drink?" meant "How 
good  is this pair that has just arrived at our table?", and the reply "Yes, a 
pint of  lager, please." meant "Dead from the neck up."
