In an earlier post, Grattan said that the laws provide on mechanism for
the director to divest himself of his director role while looking after
a game. If a spectator is to assume a new role, surely the laws should
tell us when and how? In my view (at the very least) the director should
be allowed to recategorise a spectator as an official observer.
