Subject: [blml] When to late
At match-point.
Suppose you discover that your opponents might have
used UI. You have not called for a TD when you played
the board and you have not told your opponents that you
might want a TD to rule. Are you entitled to get a ruling
within half an hour from when it happend, after end of
session or another period? Law 79 C?
Does it matter if you have been informed by other players?
At teams tournament
The same question.
Are you entitled to get a ruling within half an hour from
when it happend, after end of that match or another period?
Law 79 C?
Does it matter if you have been informed by other players?

+=+ In these regards there is no distinction in the laws
between teams and pairs. Law 16A2 says "should summon
the Director forthwith". 'Should' is not a strong enough term
to override the Law 92B provision giving the right to request
a Director's ruling. within the time period specified by the
sponsoring organization, or in default of such specification
within 30 minutes after the official score has been made
available for inspection.
In some circumstances, depending on the nature of the
alleged UI for example, the Director may find it difficult to
assess the evidence if the protest is delayed. The Laws are
silent on the question of the manner in which the contestant
becomes aware of a 'substantial reason to believe' (16A2).
There is no restriction on this in the laws.
