The key point here is that, as Sven suggests, "knowledge of agreements" 
and "general knowledge" are disjoint.  I suggest approaching the 
difference via a "thought experiment":  Imagine that you and every 
other bridge player in the world adopted currently unknown, radically 
different, bidding methods.  Could that affect the specific piece of 
knowledge in question?  If so, it falls into "knowledge of agreements", 
and cannot be classified as "general knowledge".

In particular, this would make it clear that, as I have argued 
previously, "knowledge of agreements" does not turn into "general 
knowledge" just because the agreement in question is widely known and 
commonly used.
