I haven't followed this thread from the beginning and am confused. 
Herman says that he said that he "always" opened these hands with 1H. 
Now he says that he doesn't always open them with 1H.  (Later he seems 
to say that he will no longer say that he does one or the other.)  What 
is his practice?  Does he always or doesn't he always? If the latter why 
did he maintain the former earlier in the thread?  I have a sneaking 
suspicion that, had he not done so we could have saved ourselves about 
10 million lines of discussion.  JE
