Were I the TD I'd automatically rule against myself in this situation - 
it's the only option to protect my reputation.  Of course that leads to 
the circular argument that since I know I'd rule against myself I know 
the irregularity can't work to my advantage and I shouldn't adjust and 
therefore...!
