It sounds to me like everyone here is assuming that asking the meaning
of an alert risks passing on UI, and not asking is totally risk free.
This is wrong thinking.  If you play somewhere where you can only ask
when you "need to know" (as they say), it is plainly obvious that not
asking passes on UI.  In some situations, not asking passes on more UI
than asking does.
