meant to outlaw things like the "defence" to an opening weak 1NT where
pass = 0-10
ask opp to confirm range and then pass = 11-14
double = 15+
*That's* communicating with partner through questions asked!
(And yes, Herman, I've picked the clearest example that comes to mind
again. No doubt you'll want me to "get real", like last time.)
