A system is made of three parts :

- agreements, including inferences
- meta-agreements, including default meanings
- things that can be deduced from pure logic.

You seem to discard the third part completely. A meaning can be part of 
our system, while not being part of our agreements. The proof being that 
people that don't play it understood the bid.
